"Canyon Sunset" was really just trying to capture a mystical type feel. I was in the middle of writing my book SandStone and Mirrors and in a way, this painting allowed me to capture that "far away" world that I was trying to write about. Although this painting isn't used as an illustration in the book, I feel that it embodies the fantastical world I wrote about.
