"Snake Coil" took some time to grow on me after I painted it. I really didn't care much for it but eventually came to appreciate the cool blues and greens used in the painting. I think I started with a desire to capture something violent and unnerving in the snake but what I ended up with was something vibrant with a embodiment of nature. Once I reconciled those differences is when I appreciated the painting for what it is.
